Topic

Culture of UAE and Korea

*To commemorate the year of tolerance, the topic was chosen for mutual understanding and respect between Korea and UAE.

*Subtopic Example : Food of Korea and UAE, History of Korea and UAE, Language of Korea and UAE etc.

Eligibility

UAE Nationality Only

*Participants must not have a previous career of the 1st place in the same or equivalent competitions hosted by Korean Embassy or Korean Cultural Center. But, those who have the 2nd or 3rd place experience are allowed to attend this contest.

*Participants must not have Korean as their mother tongue.

*Participants must not have a native Korean parent or guardian.

Prizes

1st – Round trip ticket to Korea

2nd – Brand new Smartphone

3rd – Brand new Tablet PC

*A small gift and certificate will be provided for all the finalists.

*Prizes may be subject to change without any notice.

- Application Form

- Final Script in Korean (4 or 5 minutes long)

- Photograph (Portrait)

- Copy of Valid Emirates ID

- Voice Record File in Korean (MP3 format only)

*The length of the record must be within two minutes only.

*The Record file must include all of the following contents :

Self-Introduction, Reason for Participation, Brief introduction of your topic

Guideline

for Finalists

『Final Speech Rules』

- The length of the final speech must be between four to five (4~5) minutes.

- Participants must have a title for their own speech; The topic cannot be used as a title.

- It is not allowed to bring the whole script on the speech. Only brief keyword note is allowed.

- Final speech must be based on the script submitted, but can slightly differ from it.

- Speech contents must be created by the participants themselves. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.

- It is not allowed to bring props(materials) like bag, chair, flower etc.

『Final Speech Evaluation Criteria』

- Content : Structure, Suitability of Topic, Diverse Expression (40%)

- Delivery : Fluency, Accuracy, Pronunciation, Emphasis (40%)

- Stage Presence : Engaging the audience, Speed & Time Management (20%)
