Siwon Ghim

Siwon Ghim is a rising Korean abstract artist who graduated from the Slade School of Fine Art in 2014 and is currently actively working in Seoul, Korea.

Starting with her first solo exhibition in 2018, she has consistently expressed her determination to define her identity through her artworks.

Her artworks explore the artist's conviction and beliefs, finding them through the sensations of her body.

In 2020, Siwon Ghim was selected for the "Grant for Artist Management Program" organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Korea, which she will continue to expand her works until 2025.

Some of her artworks are displayed in Yeongcheon City’s Department of Culture and Art, Kimreeaa Gallery in Seoul, LKIF Gallery, Gabi Gallery, Gallery 3ann, and Gallery Lee & Bae.

Artist’s Note

While creating my artwork, I recover the sense of stability and joy.

For "The Sense of Living," I have carefully selected paintings that exemplify my ever-changing internal state.

In our journey through life, there are moments when we choose the wrong path. Through my work, I document my experiences of overcoming such difficulties. In this exhibition, "The Sense of Living," I aim to showcase paintings that convey stories of triumphing over hardships. I hope my vibrant energy is delivered to the audiences in the UAE through this exhibition.
