The Korean Cultural Center in the UAE held a fun summer camp for children on July 15, in partnership with the Media Creative Authority. This camp was made for kids on summer break. It gave them a chance to enjoy culture and learn about media in a fun way. A total of 61 children and 10 teachers joined this event. The day started with a short talk about Korea. After that, the children joined making workshops like making traditional Korean masks and creating Korean keychains. The kids enjoyed making their crafts and showed a lot of focus. Some children wore their handmade masks all day. Next, the kids played a team game called the 'Flipping Game'. It was a simple game, but many kids were very excited and tried hard to win. At the end of the camp, the kids tested Korean banana milk and snacks. This was the laft fun part of the Korean Cultural Center's program. This event was a great example of working together with an important local culture organization. It also helped children learn about Korea in a fun way. The Korean Cultural Center will keep planning more programs like this for kids in the future.

Korean Cultural Center in the UAE Teams Up with Zayed University's Korean Club for Vibrant Korean Culture Festa
Abu Dhabi, 29 April 2025 - On Tuesday, the Korean Cultural Center in the UAE partnered with Zayed University's Korean Club to host the annual Korean Culture Festa, an on-campus celebration designed and led by club members to introduce their classmates to contemporary Korean culture. Running from 11:00 am, the festival featured five intereactive stations hosted by KCC UAE : mother-of-pearl accessory making, Korean name caligraphy, Hanbok experience, Dalgona challenge, Strawberry cordial workshop. With female students forming the majority of attendees, the craft stations, calligraphy corner and Hanbok experience zone quickly became crowd-pleasers, drawing groups of friends who took photos and shared their creation on social media. The convivial group atmosphere added an extra spark to the event. Humour also played a role: one daring student stepped up for the Squid Game-style Dalgona challenge, only to 'crack' under plressure in less than a minute - provoking good-natured laughter from onlookers. Male students were equally intrigued; one first-time participants marvelled at the unfamiliar layers of a traditional Hanbok before snapping keepsake photos in full costume. Building on the success of last year's edition, the festival once again demonstrated the populatiry of Korean culture among Zayed University students. Korean Cultural Center in the UAE Hosts Cultural Experience at "Festival in the Park"
On April 12 (Saturday) and 13 (Sunday), the Korean Cultural Center in the UAE participated in Festival in the Park at Umm Al Emarat Park in Abu Dhabi, offering hands-on Korean cultural experiences. The Center was invited by the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) to join this family-friendly event, which featured a variety of workshops and live performances designed especially for young children and families. The Korean Cultural Center presented several engaging programs, including a Mother-of-Pearl Mask Scratch Workshop, Tuho (a traditional Korean arrow-throwing game), and Jegichagi (a Korean-style hacky sack game). Among them, the Mother-of-Pearl Mask Scratch Workshop - introduced for the first time at this event - drew particular attention. Participants designed their own unique masks by scratching off colorful layers inspired by traditional Korean mother-of-pearl inlay. Children expressed their creativity with the help of their guardians and proudly wore their completed masks as they explored the park. Meanwhile, the traditional games of Tuho and Jegichagi received enthusiastic responses from people of all ages. The Tuho game, in particular, brought moments of laughter and friendly competition among families and friends. The Korean Cultural Center in the UAE will continue to collaborate with local cultural institutions to offer enriching experiences that bring Korean culture closer to the hearts of people across the country.
