To commemorate the honorable founder of the nation, the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development in the United Arab Emirates and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea present the “Year of Zayed, UAE-Korea Art Exhibition”.
This exhibition opens its door on 17 October for a month as a part of “Korea Festival 2018” in the gallery of Abu Dhabi Cultural Center.
10 artists from two friendly countries unveil various artworks with different mediums and styles to highlight Sheikh Zayed and the values that he cherished.
UAE and Korea hope to share the vision and wisdom of the noble leader, and deepen cordial relations through this inspiring art program.

Participating Artists : AHN Moha, HAN Song-joon, YANG Kura, KIM Tae-eun, NOH Sang-dong and 5 Emirati artists

YANG Kura : People’s lives are filled with countless memories. Sheikh Zayed and his life can be also remembered and longed in different ways by his people, such as a divine leader or a warming father. 

Plenty of fragments and colors of Yang’s artworks reflect those different memories toward this historic figure and how they are united to recollect Father Zayed.

AHN Moha : From the wish that Sheikh Zayed and his achievements are remembered and loved by the people all over the world like stars in the sky, 

light dots are used metaphorically in Ahn’s artworks. The lenticular techniques with several layers and depths are the impression of his illustrious accomplishment.

KIM Tae-un : Rather than seeing the world from the reflections of light, Kim focuses on the light itself to express the beauty of souls, while salt signifies patience and preservation.

NOH Sang-dong : Noh uses Korean calligraphy techniques which is one of the bases of oriental art. 

His Snow Series shows various depth of the space by writing Korean letter repeatedly with ink and writing brush, therefore transform traditional ink-and-wash painting to modern art.

His Snow 89 to 91 represent wishes for peace and the three color of UAE’s national flag.

HAN Song-joon : Han uses stainless wires to create portraits of Sheikh Zayed. This style gives impression of simplicity similar to pencil drawings. 

From such simple images, however, you can find shining, exquisite shapes of the noble leader.
