On April 12 (Saturday) and 13 (Sunday), the Korean Cultural Center in the UAE participated in Festival in the Park at Umm Al Emarat Park in Abu Dhabi, offering hands-on Korean cultural experiences. The Center was invited by the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) to join this family-friendly event, which featured a variety of workshops and live performances designed especially for young children and families.

The Korean Cultural Center presented several engaging programs, including a Mother-of-Pearl Mask Scratch Workshop, Tuho (a traditional Korean arrow-throwing game), and Jegichagi (a Korean-style hacky sack game). Among them, the Mother-of-Pearl Mask  Scratch Workshop - introduced for the first time at this event - drew particular attention. Participants designed their own unique masks by scratching off colorful layers inspired by traditional Korean mother-of-pearl inlay. Children expressed their creativity with the help of their guardians and proudly wore their completed masks as they explored the park.

Meanwhile, the traditional games of Tuho and Jegichagi received enthusiastic responses from people of all ages. The Tuho game, in particular, brought moments of laughter and friendly competition among families and friends.

The Korean Cultural Center in the UAE will continue to collaborate with local cultural institutions to offer enriching experiences that bring Korean culture closer to the hearts of people across the country.
