Wishes for Prosperity: Decorative Paintings of the Joseon Royal Court Event Period 01-07-2021 - 23-09-2021
In celebration of UAE-Korean Cultural Dialogue, Korean Cultural Center in the UAE and National Palace Museum of Korea are opening online exhibition "Wishes for Prosperity: Decorative Paintings of the Joseon Royal Court". Exhibition Period: 1 July - 23 September 2021 Where: www.K-Museum.com Introduction The exhibition will introduce a total of 17 relics especially utilized on walls and sliding doors in the royal court to express the King’s dignity and majesty and to wish the prosperity of the nation and wellbeing of the royal families during the Joseon Dynasty which lasted for 500 years, from 1392 to 1910. "Wishes for Prosperity: Decorative Paintings of the Joseon Royal Court" showcase a variety of formats such as screens spread behind the living spaces, paper sliding doors, and wall paintings drawn directly on the walls or silk or paper pasted on the wall. They are the collections of National Palace Museum of Korea. The exhibition includes The Ten Symbols of Longevity and The Sun, Moon, and Five Peaks, which have been seen a lot in Korean historical dramas and movies and it is expected to be easier to understand the exhibition for the audiences who are already interested in Korean culture. *This exhibition provides Korean, English and Arabic language depends on the language setting of your device. *This exhibition has been created thanks to a partnership between National Palace Museum of Korea and Google Arts & Culture. *You can access to the exhibition through Google Arts & Culture even after UAE exhibition period.

Korean Folk Music Band ‘bob’ online live concert
Korean Cultural Center is pleased to invite you to the rollicking Korean Folk Songs Concert with band bob - Tittle : Korean Folk Music Online Concert - Date & Time : 11 April (Sun), 5pm - Venue : Korean Cultural Center official Youtube Channel bob is a well-loved folk band playing original music that combines traditional sounds with popular music. Named by flipping the word “pop” in a witty manner, the band presents cheerful and highly addictive music that blends intricate instrumentation and properly executed traditional folk music. Various types of arirang are rearranged into popular and cheerful modern band music for all to enjoy. Some examples are the classic arirang, Gangwon-do Arirang, and Miryang Arirang, as well as different regions’ folk songs, such as Nodeul Riverside and Neo-Yeong-Na-Yeong.

Exhibition Period: 1 April - 24 June 2021 Where : www.K-Museum.com Introduction Embroidery is a field of the arts that has been made and used in our daily lives from a long time ago. The patterns and colors that have been materialized through embroidery elevate our daily lives aesthetically and add abundancy. In each and every relic introduced in this exhibition, such embroidery culture of Korea can be traced. 2021 KOREA-UAE FESTIVAL
The KOREA-UAE FESTIVAL, jointly hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Republic of Korea and the Ministry of Culture and Youth of the United Arab Emirates and organized by the KOCCA and KOFICE will be held from March 31 to April 4. With the KOREA-UAE K-CONTENT FESTIVAL and THE KOREA-UAE K-POP FESTIVAL, the event is expected to serve as an opportunity to promote various K-contents to the region. We hope the KOREA-UAE FESTIVAL to make an opportunity to further strengthen cultural exchange between the Korea and UAE. <K-CONTENT FESTIVAL> - Date: March 31st (Wednesday) to April 1st (Thursday) - Contents: 28 Korean companies in the game, comics, VR and AR content sectors will participate in virtual business meeting and export consultations. To promote the Korean products such as K-beauty, K-POP and K-food, a promotional video has been produced in collaboration with the influencer and the video will be released during the event. < K-POP FESTIVAL> - Date: April 4th (Sun) 7 p.m. UAE time - Location: Cultural Center YouTube, Naver V (V) Music - Contents: K-POP groups including MAMAMOO, B.I.G, ASTRO, NCT DREAM, THE BOYZ, aespa and Emirati Opera singer Fatima Al Hashmi will be participated. * K-POP FESTIVAL will be broadcasted through Abu Dhabi TV on April 8 at 5pm (UAE time) * KOREA-UAE K-POP FESTIVAL has been postponed to April 4 (Sun), 7pm UAE Time to pay tribute to the death of H.H.
