Recruitment Notice for <The 17th Friends of Korea>


The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism operates the "Friends of Korea" and "Facts About Korea" services to spread accurate information and beautiful culture of Korea globally. 

We encourage enthusiastic individuals to apply for this initiative.


Recruitment Schedule

- Announcement: June 24 (Mon), 9:00 AM – July 17 (Wed), 5:00 PM

- Results Announcement: August 1 (Thu)

- Inauguration Ceremony & Training: August

***Note: Successful applicants will be notified via email and must attend the ceremony. Overseas participants can join online.


Recruitment Details

Number of Positions: Around 35

Activity Period: August to December 2024 (about 5 months)

- Eligibility: Koreans and foreigners aged 18+ residing in Korea or abroad

*** Foreigners must be proficient in Korean.


 Selection Criteria:

 Knowledge and interest in Korean culture and history

 Ability to research, report on, and promote correct information about Korea internationally (both online and offline)


 Preferred Qualifications:

Language Skills: Proficiency in English and another language (Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, French, Indonesian, etc.)

Experience/Education: Majors in linguistics, media, international relations, or relevant fields; professionals in media, cultural promotion, or international exchange; experience in content creation or government/public sector.

Other: Active on social media (Instagram, YouTube, etc.); exchange students or international students (especially those living abroad).


Application Process

Log in to the Facts About Korea website (www.factsaboutkorea.go.kr) (membership required).

Navigate to the "Friends of Korea" menu, select "Apply & Check Results," and find the recruitment notice.

Submit a 2-minute self-introduction video and complete the application form.


Activities and Format

Corrective Activities: Analyze and report on international information distribution about Korea, report errors to the Facts About Korea service.

Promotional Activities: Promote the Facts About Korea service to Koreans and foreigners.

Format: Individual and team activities (4-5 members per team, assigned by organizers).

Only applications submitted through the Facts About Korea website are valid.

Temporary saved applications can be modified before the deadline, but final submissions cannot be changed.

Submitted documents are used solely for evaluation and will not be returned.

Any false information may lead to disqualification. Errors or omissions are the applicant's responsibility.

Recruitment and operation schedules may change based on circumstances.
