The Korean Cultural Center in the UAE is pleased to share the announcement of Hangeul Festa 2026, a global video contest organized by the Hangeul Nuri Foundation.

Hangeul Festa is a special cultural competition where foreign participants introduce their own language and culture by writing the sounds of their language in Hangeul or Nuri-Hangeul.

This year’s contest invites participants to create a YouTube video introducing a traditional food or traditional game from their country or ethnic culture, while expressing the sounds of their own language using Hangeul or Nuri-Hangeul.

Contest Categories

• ●1.Hangeul Category
  Participants write the sounds of their language using modern Hangeul.

• ●2.Nuri-Hangeul Category
  Participants write the sounds of their language using the Nuri-Hangeul writing system proposed by the Hangeul Nuri Foundation.

Please note that participants may apply to only one category.

Eligibility

Foreign nationals who know Hangeul are welcome to participate.
Korean nationals are not eligible to apply directly.

Prizes

A total of 99 winners will be selected, with total prize money of USD 62,000.
The Grand Prize winner, known as the Sejong Award, will receive USD 10,000.

Winner Announcement

October 1, 2026
Winners will be announced on the official Hangeul Festa website.
